MYP humanities and mathematics An interdisciplinary approach to global issues
At Inter-Community School Zürich, Sally Hirsch, Eric Eckstein and Alex Black collaborate on an interdisciplinary unit in which their students synthesize their knowledge of mathematics, science, and humanities. After researching the global issue of malaria, small groups of students build expert knowledge on a potential solution to this problem and then apply their knowledge in determining and presenting the best solution for a particular country.
